Samuel

by Spife

/
1.
The wind it blows On through the trees It bends them down Until the leaves They touch the ground, The Forest bed A storm is brewing And lies ahead.
2.
Fitful Sleep 02:50
Tossing and turning All through the night The pipsqueak lies Wrapped up in fright. The storm has come And passing through, In fitful Sleep It’s eyes shut tight.
3.
The sun has risen The night is gone And now the creature Scurries along, The ground is damp With rain and dew And many ’o branch Had fallen down too.
4.
It lifts the bark Searching for food It finds small creatures Living crude, They make food For under bark Mushrooms grow Out from the dark.
5.
The creature moves through territory uncharted It leaves its home now It is departing. It’s cliff side hole Is so inviting But so is the forest From which it’s delighting.
6.
Upon moss beds It lies its head And stares up at The forest ahead, The sun is setting The day is dying The forest waves Goodbye young Fyeling.
7.
The birds they wink And talk to it The creature, a fyeling, Listens with respect. It’s ears perk up For Fyelings know Birdkind speech Holds magic and glows.
8.
The Fyeling squeaks And whistles a tune The birds they speak Of dreams come true. Of flying far, And seeing sights, The Fyeling wishes To touch the skies.
